What defines a good set of ethics? It isn’t like you get a box when you’re born, and are told only use what is in this box. They aren’t like breadcrumbs that you pick up along your trip. Or are they?
Some people seem to develop their ethics as they learn. Others have them from the beginning. And, even others have them to begin with, and continue to develop them throughout their entire life. The reason that this post is incredibly important to you is because of the increasingly growing amount of decisions that you must make.
You have to decide who you want in power with the election season picking up. You have to decide what choices you want them to make. Of course, these decisions are not going to cause a major difference at the moment, but in fact they will cause dramatic difference in your very way of living. Here’s an analogy I heard the other day:
A smoker isn’t going to be affected at the moment from smoking one cigarette. But, in fact, after smoking for an entire lifetime, they will be affected. Drastically.
So think you yourself. Does my choice matter? I think it does. I think you should choose the person who follows the rules.
