The Sports Program at UMBC is something that isn’t always recognized. That’s why when I spoke to one of the Club Lacrosse Players, I made sure to do my part in highlighting their success. Club lacrosse is rising, winning more games, making an even more accomplished name for themselves, and becoming the talk of the town.
Here’s what they did just this year!
1) UMBC Club Lacrosse won on the Frostburg Freeze Tournament in November and won 2 games (against NYU and American) at the Beltway Bash earlier this month (and Beltway Bash coordinators predicted that they would win in our division)
2) NCLL (UMBC’s conference) ranked the UMBC team in the top 10 pre-season preview
3) They won most of their fall season, in addition to taking a stronghold of the spring season
4) They designed their own uniforms, and were finalists in a contest for their short designs. Recently, they also won a decals contest.
To sum it up, UMBC Lacrosse is gaining fame, winning more and more games, and the public is noticing them to a greater extent.
